We started this journey with the ambition of building an FP&A platform for SMEs.

But after working closely with finance leaders, one pattern was consistent: FP&A isn’t the real bottleneck. Most SMEs are still buried in fragmented finance operations: invoices without context, manual reconciliations, spreadsheet glue, and endless clean-up. In that reality, planning becomes a luxury.

So we changed the starting point, not the vision.

The vision is still the same: give SMEs the power of an enterprise finance function. But we now believe the path there starts with execution. Financial intelligence doesn’t come from better reporting; it emerges when workflows run cleanly, continuously, and in context.

That’s why we’re building Cortena as an AI execution layer that connects to the tools SMEs already use and deploys agents that run finance workflows on their behalf, following your rules, handling exceptions, and keeping financial truth up to date.

We’re building one agent at a time, starting where finance breaks first: pre-accounting and reconciliation. From there, autonomous finance becomes possible, and strategic finance becomes the default.
